Ahmedabad: Heard of apartments worth a crore or more in Ahmedabad? Well, hold your breath! Now, our city is set to give stiff competition to the Marine Lines of Mumbai with a price tag of Rs 6.5 crore an apartment. A city-based builder has dared to take the price barrier beyond the common imagination to a staggering price. Palash-9, a nine-apartment scheme which was launched on Saturday has flats sized between 5,000 to 7,000 sq ft areas. This super luxury pads are decked up with choicest fittings, gizmos and of course classy art work. “With the changing time the city’s need and demands are also changing. Therefore we came up with such a super high-end scheme near the city surrounded by greenery,” said GD Agarwal, managing partner of the developer firm. The company has launched ‘Palash-9′, a super high-end apartment scheme that will cost between Rs4.5 crore to Rs6.5 crore. The scheme is on the outskirts of the city near Thaltej. The developer is expecting to launch many more schemes of the same type in the city within the R2 zone. However what is surprising is that the per sq feet price of this scheme comes to over Rs9,000. These are the rates that are currently prevalent in Mumbai. Rivera Antilia, another super high-end duplex-apartment scheme by Goyal group is coming up in Prahladnagar. The cost of the apartment scheme is said to be between Rs 5 crore to Rs 6 core, said a realty source on the condition of anonymity. There are two buildings in the campus; one is a ten-floor duplex tower with apartment size of over 8750 sq feet with five bedroom hall kitchen (BHK) and another eleven -storied building next to it of 4-BHK. This will bring the cost of the apartment close to between Rs5,700 Rs6,700 per sq feet. Commenting on experimenting with such upscale and classy schemes in the city, the realty experts said that it’s not a scheme for everyone but it is a niche product for a particular class. For instance, COO of Real Estate Studies and Management Academy, Jigar Pandya believes that such projects reflect people’s curiosity and enthusiasm for experimenting with new things. “I believe that developers are exploring and trying to give a swanky lifestyle to a particular class that we would be seeing in Mumbai.However, such project cannot change the rates of that area as it is just a single project that is sold on specifications and not per sq feet rate, added Pandya.
