Don’t use industrial land for housing projects, MP tells government

KOLKATA: Trinamool MP Saugata Roy on Saturday requested the Mamata Banerjee government not to sanction industrial land for housing projects. Roy is currently working on a new industrial policy and will submit it to the chief minister by this month. Speaking at ‘Bengal Builds’ on the Milan Mela grounds, he said: “I have suggested that the West Bengal government issue instructions not to sanction housing projects on industrial land. It is my humble request to the government.” He has also written to Mamata Banerjee on the issue.
