Noida builders can’t use groundwater

NOIDA: In a major setback to the real estate industry in Noida and Greater Noida, the National Green Tribunal on Friday passed an interim order restraining builders from extracting any quantity of underground water for construction. The stay has been put in place by the tribunal till the next date of hearing which is scheduled for January 24. The stay order has left real estate developers and investors worried as the pace of work on hundreds of real estate projects might slow down for non-availability of adequate water.
