Realty regulation Bill to be tabled in Budget session

New Delhi: The much-awaited Real Estate Regulation Bill, which aims to establish a regulatory authority for enforcing fair practices, accountability and fast-track dispute resolution mechanism regarding real estate transactions, will be tabled in Parliament in the Budget session. The Bill, piloted by the housing ministry, proposes penalties on real estate developers for violations of “fair practices”. It will also make it mandatory for the industry to use only “carpet area” for the pricing of properties.
