District administration told to survey water bodies

NOIDA: Taking cognizance of increasing instances of encroachments over water bodies in Gautam Buddh Nagar and the adverse environmental consequences thereof, the Board of Revenue of Uttar Pradesh has directed the district administration to immediately conduct a drive to remove the intrusions and restore the reservoirs to their original self. The orders were passed by the Board of Revenue after a meeting with senior officials of the district administration in Noida on Friday. Reviewing the status of around 800 water bodies in the district last week, including ponds and small lakes, Uttar Pradesh Board of Revenue member, KK Sinha, has passed orders upon the district administration to conduct the drive
