60 families get notices for encroaching upon govt land

GURGAON: Close to 60 families in Sohna block on Tuesday received notices for encroaching upon on government land. According to the authorities, the land belongs to the state tourism department. The sub divisional magistrate (SDM), Sohna, has issued notices to these families and they have been given 15 days time to vacate the encroached land or face action. The encroachers can be prosecuted under sections of the Haryana Public Premises and Land (Eviction and Rent Recovery) Act, 1972. The families have been asked to submit documents in their defence till February 26, after which they face prosecution. The Sohna SDM Vivek Kalia issued these notices after he visited the premises
