PCMC fails to recover Rs 7.25cr rent

PUNE: The land records department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation ( PCMC) has not recovered rent arrears of Rs 7.25 crore from 1,555 shops since several years, a Right to Information Act response by the corporation to Raju Savale, vice-president of the environment cell of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena in Pimpri-Chinchwad, said. Savale said, “There are 1,555 shops of the civic body that have been given on rent or lease to various organizations or individuals. The land records department was expected to get Rs 8.96 crore as rental as per its records between January and December 2012. But it has collected only Rs 1.76 crore of these charges. The
