Parking woes: Govt eases building laws

Taking note of the lack of space for parking of vehicles in private colonies, the Haryana government has relaxed the construction norms for residential buildings and allowed stilt parking in commercial and industrial premises. As per the new norms, the maximum height limit of a residential building has been increased from 12 metres to 14.5 metres. Individual plot owners can now leave space on the ground floor for parking instead of parking their vehicles on the road and use rest of the floors for residential purpose.
