Delhi government speeds up development work in unauthorised colonies

NEW DELHI: With assembly polls just five months away, the Delhi government has issued instruction for speeding up development works in all the 895 unauthorised colonies, home to around 35 lakh people. The colonies were regularised in September last year and various agencies like PWD, Delhi Jal Board and municipal corporations have been tasked to put in place all the required infrastructure in the settlements at the earliest. “The concerned agencies have been asked to speed up infrastructure development works in the 895 colonies,” a senior official said.
