Sikh body alleges discrepancies in GLADA draw of lots for riot victims

A day after GLADA allotted 789 flats to 1984 riot victims through a draw of lots, the Ludhiana Sikh Migrant Welfare Board alleged discrepancies in the process. Kartar Singh Patna, chairman of the board, told the media, “First, why were the flats allotted to people from outside Ludhiana who are not going to shift to Ludhiana to live in flats? Secondly, multiple chits of single person were put in the draw by GLADA.” When contacted, Ravinder Sharma, assistant estate officer, GLADA, said, “The process was completely transparent.
