HUDA begins survey of green covers

GURGAON: The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) last week initiated a survey to exact the status of green covers in their areas, which will help formulate a comprehensive green policy and track encroachments of greenbelts. The authority has also engaged private contractors to plant new trees on road dividers in all sectors. Preliminary reports of the survey, pertaining to number of residential parks, are encouraging. These parks are maintained by local RWAs, with funds being sourced directly from HUDA. Plant cover in these parks is well maintained, said a HUDA official.
