CBI wants to delete Ashok Chavan’s name from list of Adarsh accused

MUMBAI: There could soon be relief for Ashok Chavan who quit as Maharashtra chief minister in the wake of the Adarsh scam. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday filed an application before a special court seeking the deletion of the former CM’s name from the list of accused in the housing scam case. Judge B H Loya is expected to pass an order on Saturday. The two-page application, along with the order passed by Maharashtra governor K Sankaranarayanan refusing sanction to prosecute Chavan, was submitted by special public prosecutor Bharat Badami. Badami told the court that since the governor had declined to give sanction to prosecute the ex-CM,
