NEW DELHI: In another embarrassment for the poll-bound BSP government in Uttar Pradesh, the Union environment ministry has put Ansal’s 2,400-acre housing project, Hi-Tech Township City, at Dadri on hold for `illegally’ reclaiming a wetland in the plot. Greater Noida: In a fresh controversy surrounding the Mayawati government ahead of the Uttar Pradesh polls, it has allowed the sale of wetlands near Noida to a private builder. Hundreds of acres of wetlands visited by migratory birds from as far as Siberia and Spain were sold to Ansals for a mega housing project in Greater Noida. Lucknow The Jaypee Group has turned down a suggestion from the UP government for a soft opening, without fanfare, of the 165-km Yamuna Expressway, connecting Delhi with Agra, on Chief Minister Mayawati’s birthday on January 15, it is learnt.
