Residents resent Rapid Metro depot, ask DC to halt work

The residents of DLF Phase-III have expressed resentment over the setting up of a Rapid Metro rolling depot behind W Block, saying construction work at the site was causing noise pollution. The residents have appealed to deputy commissioner PC Meena to halt the work. The depot is being constructed on the land, which Metro officials claimed to have purchased from a resident of Nathupur village. Independent floors: 4 builders get notice

GURGAON: The enforcement wing of the department of town and country planning has issued a show-cause notice to four developers in the city for violating norms under zoning regulations and licences issued before 2009 by selling independent floors. The show-cause notice has been issued to four major builders – Malibu Towne, Mayfield Gardens, Ardee City and Unitech Ltd. According to the district town planner (enforcement) office, the builders had been issued a notice in May-June last year to “apply for completion certificates in their projects and submit pending fees in retrospective effect”. GURGAON: Residents are shocked by a move by the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to force them to cough up more money for their plots retroactively. They have been asked to pay an enhanced price for their plots ranging from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 26 lakh depending on the size of the plot. “It is shocking that HUDA is asking for money from the plot owners after losing a compensation case in the high court filed by the villagers whose land was acquired,” said Dr B R Handa, Sector 27. To decongest Gurgaon expressway, toll plaza to have more lanes

Under pressure from various quarters for not being able to ease traffic flow on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, especially at Delhi border toll and Kherki Dhaula, DS Constructions has come out with a 12-point decongestion plan. The company said it will add three more lanes, and two additional reversible lanes, to the Delhi-Jaipur side for easing the traffic flow. Work on the project will start in March. Development along Gurgaon Metro corridor soon

New Delhi: A seven-km area along the Gurgaon Metro corridor could be soon developed as multi-use complex with residential and commercial units if the proposal by the Urban Development Ministry on transit-oriented development sees light of the day.
